Dillon Boucher has tied the NBL record for games played at 408 in the James Blond Supercity Rangers 79-65 win over the Mike Pero Nelson Giants.
In what was a scrappy game, the Rangers put the defensive clamps on the Giants in the fourth quarter, winning the period 19-9.
Small forward, Earnest Ross, scored a game-high 21 points, Mitch McCarron had 18, and Nnanna Eguw grabbed a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds for the Rangers.
Despite poor shooting and a high turnover count, the Giants was only trailing by four at the end of three quarters. But in the fourth quarter they struggled, shooting 3/15 and committing six turnovers.
Kyle Adnam was the only notable scorer with 18 points for the Giants who overall shot 36% from the field.
Boucher ended the game with nine rebounds, five assists and four steals, and tomorrow he will move a game ahead of Phill Jones when the Rangers return home to host the SIT Zerofees Sharks at 7pm (Live Streamed).
The Sharks are tied with the Rangers at 10-6, a win likely to seal the second spot.
