Northern Men’s Competition – Round 3

Round three of the Men’s Northern competition saw Scam.EXE winning the round for the first time this season – a vast improvement on their sixth and third place finishes earlier in the season.

Teammates Connor Woodbridge, Anamata Haku, Anthony Jones and Zach McKenzie had a comfortable run through pool play, before facing Round 2 winner Stingrays.EXE in the semi-finals – a tough battle which Scam.EXE won 21-19.

Moving onto the finals to face 3X3 powerhouse Swish.EXE, led by Kirk Penney and Karl Noyer, Scam.EXE were able to pull out a 21-17 victory with Haku deservedly named MVP.

The Round 3 win moves Scam.EXE up to third place on the ladder with 220 points, behind Stingrays.EXE in second and Swish.EXE in first.

Northern Women’s Competition – Round 3

Round 3 saw Dream.EXE take out the win – and the full 100 points – thanks to the strong team play of 3X3 veterans Esra McGoldrick, Jelena Vucinic, Casyn Buchman and Olivia Berry.

Dream.EXE breezed through pool play – including a dominant 21-3 win over Breeze.EXE – to earn the right to face Swish.EXE in the semi-finals. After dispatching this team 21-11, they progressed to the final, taking on Phoenix.EXE led by Round 2 MVP Kendell Heremaia. They pulled out a 20-13 win, with McGoldrick earning MVP honours.

The Round 3 win moves Dream.EXE up to first place on the ladder, with Swish.EXE and Phoenix.EXE only 10 points behind them in second and third place.
