Applications are invited for the Head Coach positions for both our Men’s and Women’s National 3×3 Basketball teams. These are fixed-term volunteer positions based in Wellington.
Position and Role Summary
- Report and work alongside the Sports Administrator at Victoria University of Wellington
- Be able to commit and be flexible with our 3×3 Basketball programme from March
- Support, develop and work closely with our athletes with the aim to compete at the highest level at the 2020 National Tertiary 3×3 Championships
2020 National Tertiary 3×3 Championship
Basketball NZ, in conjunction with University & Tertiary Sport NZ (UTSNZ) will host the annual National Tertiary 3×3 Championship down at UniPol, University of Otago, Dunedin on the 24-25 April.
Oceania Qualifier for FISU University World Cup 3×3 Basketball
2020 will also see the introduction of a new Oceania qualification tournament for the FISU University World Cup 3×3 event. The top three teams from the UTSNZ National Tertiary Championship event (female and male) will be invited to Fiji to play against other Oceania teams. The tournament will be organised by FISU Oceania and take place early July.
The winning female and male teams of the qualifier will then go on to compete at the University World Cup in Xiamen, China in November where they will play against the best university and tertiary teams from around the world.
