Basketball New Zealand (BBNZ) is pleased to announce appointments for two newly created community leadership groups.
The Coach Leadership Group has been established to help guide and support the development of coaching in basketball. The Group will consist of: Mick Downer (Chair), Vincent Minjares, Alex Stojkovic, Mel Bennett, Helen Williamson and Jimmy Sinclair.

The Referee Leadership Group sees the existing National Referee Appointments and Development Committee further expand their focus on the development of referees across basketball. This Group will include: Peter Rodgers (Chair), Ken Coulson, Jilly Harris, Stephanie Eldred, Marty Davison and Te Kirikauri Pene.

These two leadership groups aim to enhance the connection into our basketball communities and ensure development programmes and services are ‘fit for purpose’ in meeting the needs of our participants. These leadership groups will also have a strong focus on the need to grow the game for women and girls in support of recent key staff appointments in community basketball.
Both groups have been appointed on two-year terms, with the Referee Leadership Group having met in December and now actively supporting priority projects. The new Coach Leadership Group will meet next month to commence their role in supporting coach development.
