Each event will have two sessions to choose from:

• Session 1: 9:30am – 11:30am
• Session 2: 1:30pm – 3:30pm

Yes, each of our events are limited with capacity, so please register prior to the event to secure your spot.

These events are all about giving basketball a go! They will be packed with skills, drills, games, music, prizes, and special appearances from pro players, all in a safe and supportive environment.

Whether you’re picking up a basketball for the first time, or already growing your game, everyone is welcome. From first timers to confident players, everyone gets the chance to learn, improve, and have a great time on the court.

New participants will learn the fundamentals, while those with existing experience will have opportunities to extend, refine, and sharpen their skills.

Most importantly, these events are about having fun, building confidence, and enjoying the game in a space where everyone belongs.

None! These fun, come and give basketball a go events are designed for kids aged between 8 and 13 who want to give basketball a try, learn the basics, and have fun.

Anyone aged between 8 and 13 years old.

Between four and five tamariki aged between 8 and 13 years old, plus a responsible adult as the team manager.

Unfortunately not, all teams must have a responsible adult as their team manager accompanying them on the day.

BNZ Kiwi Hoops is Basketball New Zealand’s national programme for tamariki. It uses basketball activities and games-based learning to support tamariki to develop skills and confidence, and grow their love for the game. Find out more here.

All basketball equipment and coaching will be provided. You just need to arrive in suitable clothing and footwear, with a water bottle, and be ready to have fun.

No kai will be provided by the event organisers. Please have something to eat prior to arriving as there won’t be a set break times for kai once the session has started.
