The Basketball Without Borders Global Camp has come to a close and the two New Zealand participants have walked away with honours.
Charlisse Leger-Walker won one of five available awards given out at the camp, the Grit Award. Recognising determination and a ‘never-say-die’ attitude, Leger-Walker was chosen out of the 63 attending athletes as the most-worthy recipient.
Sam Mennenga also had a stand-out camp, being selected for the boys’ tournament team.
Both return home to New Zealand tomorrow morning.
