Why ELP?
I feel as though the programme would be an opportunity for me to step outside my comfort zone and then develop personally and professionally.
Amanda Snowball-Kelso
Franklin Basketball Association
Why ELP?
The BBNZ Emerging Leaders Programme is a perfect opportunity to develop my leadership and professional growth but also will allow me to still work, practice those skills I am learning and continue to help make changes within my community.
Anna Bourke
North Canterbury Basketball Association
Why ELP?
I see the potential and the effect we have as an organisation within our North Canterbury community and whānau, and I want to do as much as I possibly can via any opportunity to upskill/learn to make this happen. It is a privilege to be a part of something so cool!
Dani Egle-Bast

I would like to be part of this programme to better myself to be able to to take my learnings back and to be able to make effective and positive change for the better.
Darci Finnigan
North Harbour Basketball Association & BBNZHP
Why ELP?
I want to continue to grow and develop my leadership skills for both on & off the court purposes. It will also help with my development as a coach which will help me with my goals.
Eva Kelly
North Harbour Basketball Association & BBNZHP
Why ELP?
I believe any opportunity to develop myself is one to be taken. What I learn from the ELP will be implemented in our programmes at my association. I think that the friendships with like-minded people made during this could be life long, as well as being a great way to bounce ideas of others from a new perspective.
Justice-Raine Haumaha
Whai
Why ELP?
Karina Hemmington
Northland Basketball Association
Why ELP?
I believe that I’ll be a good candidate for the ELP programme because together with Northland Basketball and Kaipara Basketball we’re currently in the process to create and deliver kotiro and women’s programmes. I’m so excited to be part of the ELP, but would like to have more knowledge and to be more confident.
Kiara Lianda
Tauranga City Basketball Association
Why ELP?
I feel I would be a great candidate for the ELP given my dedication and passion already shown through my years of representing TCBA. I have continued to grow my skill set through Junior Referee Mentoring, coaching school basketball, officiating at senior and adult level and any free time I have is spent involving myself in basketball (ie Hoop Nation, 3×3 tournaments, social games, tournaments). This programme would be the perfect opportunity for me to enhance my skillset and will give me the confidence to further my passion for female basketball.
Madelin Brown
Otago Basketball Association
Why ELP?
Maia Williamson
Canterbury Basketball Association & BBNZHP
Why ELP?
I have recently been offered an assistant coaching role for the U15 Women’s New Zealand team, with the cycle starting this year. As a part of this, I believe I want to take any opportunity available to develop myself as a young women, and in a capacity that works within the same company, for alignment purposes.
Ramona Fuaiva’a
Auckland Basketball Association
Why ELP?
I am interested in participating in the ELP because I am passionate about making change in my community. I have witnessed a significant drop in the number of girls playing basketball in West Auckland and I believe through the guidance and support of this programme I will be able to change that, and see more girls being empowered through playing basketball.
Rebecca Drake
Southland Basketball Association
Why ELP?
I am interested in being involved in this amazing programme to enhance my skills and knowledge about basketball. I want to be able to support children and young adults in the sport I love and to give back to the community that grew and fostered my love of the game. I love all levels of basketball and feel like it is a privilege to be involved in Southland Basketball the way that I am. I would be an ideal candidate as I am someone who responds well to feedback and takes all ideas and perspectives into consideration. I constantly self reflect on what I am doing and why. This helps me to always develop my coaching and to think about what makes a good coach and how I can become one.
Roshan Uelese
Hawke’s Bay Basketball Association & Hawke’s Bay Hawks
Why ELP?
I am very passionate about basketball. I have already contributed to the game in so many regular & unique ways. I have been a Player (Reps & Social), Coach (Reps & High School), Trainer, Referee, Floor Controller, Spectator, Basketball Content Creator (NBL, Tauihi & BBNZ) & what I have mostly been known for these past few years, a Basketball Photographer/Videographer.
Shannon Marie Maynard-Pourau
Basketball Manawatu
Why ELP?
I am interested in participating in the ELP because there is a long step between my generation and the next, and I want to inspire future generations to not only stick with basketball, but to thrive. I want to be able to encourage and inform kids that there are so many pathways available, and to help navigate them in whatever direction they choose.
