Basketball New Zealand has taken a major step forward in creating a safe, fair, and inclusive environment for everyone involved in basketball. We’re proud to introduce our new Code of Conduct, a values-based framework that sets clear expectations for behaviour on and off the court.
The Code is built on Basketball New Zealand’s three guiding values:
- Mana (Respect): Treat everyone with fairness, dignity, and care.
- Tika (Integrity): Do the right thing, play fair, and act responsibly.
- Hono (Connected): Work together to build strong, inclusive connections.
This Code applies to everyone in our basketball community; players, coaches, referees, volunteers, staff, and supporters. It’s about fostering a culture where respect, integrity, and connection are at the heart of the game, and ensuring basketball remains a sport where everyone feels welcome and respected.
