Sky Sport and Māori Television will work together to bring the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 to Kiwis and ensure more coverage of the tournament is broadcast LIVE in New Zealand to Kiwi basketball fans.
The new agreement is in addition to the existing Māori Television coverage which will see LIVE free-to-air coverage of all Tall Blacks matches before the quarter finals, the quarter finals, both semi-finals, the third and fourth playoff match and the final broadcast on Māori Television.
The additional 18 LIVE matches from the tournament will now be broadcast on Sky Sport, these will include the following matches.

Sky Director of Sport, Tex Teixeira says this is a slam dunk for basketball fans.

Māori Television’s Pou Waihanga Kaupapa (Head of Content Creation), Callie Schaumkel welcomed the collaboration with Sky Sport.
“We are thrilled to be working with Sky Sport to deliver the 2019 FIBA World Cup to as many Kiwis as possible,” Ms Schaumkel says.
The opening match of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019, Poland v Venezuela, will be broadcast LIVE on Sky Sport 3, 8.00pm Saturday August 31st.
All Tall Blacks matches at the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 will be broadcast LIVE on Māori Television (Sky channel 19). The Tall Blacks opening match is against Brazil on Sunday September 1st at 8.00pm.
