The Olympic path is clearer from the MBO Tall Blacks after the draw for the 2020 FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournaments took place in Switzerland overnight at FIBA headquarters.
The Tall Blacks will travel to Belgrade in late June to play in one of four Olympic Qualifying Tournaments. The Tall Blacks will face Serbia (ranked six in the world) and Dominican Republic (19) in Group A. If the Tall Blacks finish in the top two in that pool, they will face one of the top two from Pool B (Italy, Puerto Rico and Senegal) in the semi-finals. Then onto the final where the winner will get a spot at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
