The Tall Blacks will play international basketball in February 2022 in what will be their first time back on the court for over a year.
Originally, the men’s national team were due to suit up in November, but FIBA has made some schedule changes due to the ongoing pandemic. This means the Tall Blacks first few Group A World Cup Qualifying Games will now be played in a bubble in the Philippines in February.
The team, under newly appointed head coach Pero Cameron, were due to get together for a camp over Labour Weekend, followed by games against the Sky Sport New Zealand Breakers. However, due to Alert Levels in Auckland, this will no longer go ahead.
The team will convene early in 2022, before the campaign to qualify for FIBA World Cup 2023 begins.
