With the North Island Men’s having a bye week this week and the North Island Women’s finishing their New Zealand Round Robins, it was up to the South Island Men’s competition to play catchup.

Southern Men’s Competition – Round 4
Pool A was topped by a dominant Rams.EXE team who won their two games comfortably, while Pool B had some much closer results. UC Maroon.EXE took to the top of the pool and made their way to the Playoffs.
Rams would play Wharenui.EXE and had to work for their result, winning 21-16, sending them straight through to the Grand Final. Gators.EXE who were 5th place on the table had some work to do against 1st place UC Maroon. But the Maroons were too strong, winning comfortably 21-15.
The two teams traded blow for blow in the grand final, making it a close game all the way through, leaving it up to the final shot. Call in Chris Tupaea, who stepped up to take the gamewinning shot from UC Maroon, calling game with a walkoff two pointer. UC Maroon took the game 21-19 and remain 1st on the table.
