The first round of the 3×3.EXE Premier League has concluded with Coasties.EXE and Gators.EXE coming out on top in their respective conferences.
Coasties.EXE took down defending North Island Champions Dimension.EXE in a thrilling Round 1 final winning 21-17. Coasties lost just one game in the first round of play and now have all the momentum on their side for when Round 2 rolls around on June 26.
Hiap.EXE and Bridge.EXE both managed semi-final appearances and whilst they weren’t able to get through to the final, they still gained valuable points for the rounds to come.
In the South Island Conference, it was Gators.EXE claiming Round 1 glory defeating UC Maroon.EXE 21-16 in the final. Gators have a perfect 7-0 record to this point and have established themselves as the team to beat down south.
The University of Canterbury saw both their teams reach the semi-final, while Rams.EXE are also in the hunt with two rounds still to play.
The South Island Conference will resume play on June 27.
The MVPs for Round 1 were Ben Castle (Coasties.EXE) in the North Island Conference and Amosa Faitaua (Gators.EXE) for the South Island Conference.
There are a total of three rounds in the 3×3.EXE Premier League with ranking points dished out at the conclusion of each round. After three rounds the top two teams in each conference will advance to the Grand Final event in Auckland on September 4.
