Leagues General Manager Huw Beynon has exited his role at Basketball New Zealand (BBNZ) and a replacement will be named in the coming weeks.
Beynon moves on after a successful one-year stint which saw the Sal’s NBL have its best season yet from a viewership standpoint and ushering in the exciting new women’s league GJ Gardner Homes Tauihi Basketball Aotearoa.
“It has been an honour and a thrill to be at Basketball New Zealand during a period of huge growth for our National Leagues.
“The Sal’s NBL has reached new heights in the past few years, and I’ll forever look back with immense pride at the creation and first season of GJ Gardner Homes Tauihi Basketball Aotearoa,” said Beynon.
“Overseeing the leagues has been an honour, but a time and travel intensive one! With my family growing further in 2023, I have chosen to have more time to give to them, and to prepare for my next endeavour.
“I look forward to remaining behind the commentary mic, and watching on as a fan, as our leagues, and our sport, continue to soar,” concluded Beynon.
There will be an update provided shortly on a replacement Leagues General Manager.
