3×3 Secondary Schools Nationals 2024 – Preview

After last month’s 3×3 Regional Qualifiers, 12 teams from both the Boys and Girls competitions have qualified for the 3×3 Secondary Schools Nationals – taking place in Wellington this weekend.

This will be the biggest shake-up to the 3×3 Nationals since its inception, with two broadcasted courts, two divisions and a change in venue from Pulman Arena where the last two tournaments had been hosted.

Last year’s champions, Rosmini College (Boys) will be looking to finish first place again after last year’s exciting overtime victory

Tauranga Girls will also make an appearance as they look to go back-to-back. Their squad includes Anika Hyland, who recently travelled with the 2degrees 3×3 Tall Ferns as a travelling reserve. Read about her 3×3 journey here

Who’s Playing?

Post-Qualifiers – six teams from the Northern, three from the Central and three from the Southern tournaments – have all qualified to play in this 12-team tournament. Three courts will be in action over two days, with some fantastic 3×3 basketball set to be played.
