U14 Regionals
To provide three regional Basketball New Zealand tournaments for aspirational players at each association across the country.
To promote the game of basketball in the younger age groups, encourage players to stay involved in the sport by having quality and positive experiences, and provide the opportunity to enjoy the experience of a tournament format.
We offer three U14 Regional Tournaments which are made up of 2 Representative zones each:
Please click on the tournament you wish to attend for details specific to each tournament.

The level of undesirable sideline behaviour at BBNZ tournaments has, regrettably, increased in recent times.
Examples of such behaviours include inappropriate comments, by spectators, directed at match officials, coaching staff, children, volunteers and tournament/stadium staff, swearing, yelling abuse, racism, athlete confrontation, overly loud and aggressive attitude etc.
We ask that you work with us to support efforts to minimise these behaviours.
Be A Great Supporter.
Let them play.
These are kids. This is a game. Coaches are volunteers. Refs are human. This is not the NBA.
Our full ‘Be A Great Supporter’ document and ‘Code of Conduct’ can be found here.
- It is compulsory for all players participating in all age grade (under 20’s and younger) competitions, leagues and tournaments run by BBNZ and its members to wear a protective mouthguard when they are on court and the game is in play
- The No Mouthguard, No Play Policy is to be firmly enforced
- Players are not permitted to share mouthguards
- Mouthguards of any colour may be worn (except in FIBA events where they must be non-coloured/transparent)
Please click here to view the BBNZ Mouthguard Policy.
