Was a member of the bronze medal winning team at the 2018 Commonwealth Games.

Played his first game for the Tall Blacks against Korea in Tauranga in 2014.

Averaged 10.5 points and 4.2 rebounds for the Tall Blacks at the 2017 FIBA Asia Cup in Lebanon.

After graduating from Rosmini College Smith-Milner attended Polk State College, Florida for one year before returning to play for the Super City Rangers in the New Zealand NBL at the end of the 2014 season.

He joined Melbourne United in 2015 as a Development player and has played four seasons with the Australian NBL club winning a championship in 2018.

Smith-Milner played for the Canterbury Rams in the 2017 NZ NBL season and Nelson Giants in the 2018 season.
