Wellington Plays Host to Foot Locker U18 Nationals for 2024

This week, Wellington will play host to an Age Group National Tournament for the first time since 2018. It will also feature the popular Foot Locker Defensive Player of the Tournament Award which was taken out by one player in each Division.

Evie Leeson from Canterbury took the DPOT Award for the Women’s Division at the Foot Locker U20 Nationals, while Ezrah EAgle from Hawke’s Bay secured it in the Men’s. Both walked away with Foot Locker vouchers, as well as the first DPOT winners for the new-look Foot Locker Nationals.

After each game, coaches have the opportunity to put in the names of their top three defensive players from the opposite team. At the end of the tournament, the totals are tallied up and the players with the most votes, take out the Defensive Player of the Tournament Award.

The Foot Locker U18 Nationals start from Wednesday 10th July 2024 till Saturday 13th July 2024. You can find the best updates through our social channels @basketballnz
