About the Role:
We have an exciting opportunity for an Event Coordinator to join our team based in Wellington’s CBD for 6 months of every year (mid-April to mid-October). This is a 0.5 role but is fulltime over 6 months of the year.
As one of our Event Coordinators, you provide administrative and operational support to the delivery of our events programme, specifically delivering our tournaments programme and international and domestic events.
Your responsibilities include:
- Act as the first point of contact for event enquiries, supporting Event Hosts, teams, referees and stakeholders with timely information and issue resolution.
- Support event preparation and delivery by coordinating logistics, suppliers, equipment/resources (including signage), travel and accommodation where required.
- Use approved competition management systems to manage entries, rosters and officials, and to produce/publish draws, schedules, reporting and results.
- Prepare and distribute event documentation and communications (programmes, draw info, technical meeting materials), and keep event information updated across website/social channels.
- Ensure delivery aligns with BBNZ policies and budgets, support event health & safety documentation, and maintain records and post-event reporting (including surveys and feedback).
As the successful candidate, you will have:
- Proven experience in sports administration, preferably with competitions or events.
- Excellent attention to detail, time management, and the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders, staff, and volunteers.
- Proven computer skills in relation to the Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Flexibility and reliability, with a full driver’s licence, willingness to travel, and availability to work flexible hours as needed, including weekends and public holidays.
